A quint-essential read

I may be biased as am a designer geek (loud and proud) but I discovered Quint Magazine the other week and am actually impressed. You can get all the major design magazines in the UAE such as Design Week, Creative Review, Blueprint, Print etc but its nice to have a locally produced one about graphic design (and all things creative) in Dubai.
Quint describes itself as ‘a collaboration of creative people from around the world’ and boast readers from 80 different countries.
I have worked in publishing and on magazine design for several years and this looks like a designers dream. Fun content, no grids or guidelines to follow and just cool art, design, illustration and photography. Nice work if you can get it.
It started out as an online publication (and still is available on the internet super highway) born from the boutique design studio Quint. They launched the magazine in July 2010 as a way of communicating with other creatives and allowing local and international talent a place to meet.
Showcasing some of the worlds best illustrators, photographers and graphic designers as well as looking at fashion, art and film I will definitely be looking out for the next issue. Might even see if they would like to collaborate. If nothing else, Version B design does have a soft spot for bright orange and it seems to be a favorite of Quint.
(Oh, and by the way, they won a Dubai Lynx 2011 award. But we didn’t think that was worth mentioning. And has nothing to do with being jealous).
