A complete redesign of Haute Ecole de Musique Lausanne (or HEMU) visual profile was done, exploring colors, fonts and photography. The aim was to express the creative and demanding nature of the institution.
The rebrand for the school is a fresh and clean approach to a corporate identity. The use of a modern sans serif font moves away from the traditional and ‘old fashioned’ image of music schools and orchestras. The use of a fresh purple colour brings a modern touch and vibrant feel to the brand.
The ‘M’ and the ‘U’ have been accentuated creating an emphasis on the music part of the name and also allowing the strap line to sit neatly underneath.
The combination of musical instruments with diverse objects (such as fish with a cello) have created a dynamic and improbable fusion. The vibrant images are used across posters, brochures, signage and a new website.
